In 2024, I stumbled upon a drama called “Eternal Love of Dream”. It was a fantasy series (56 episodes) out of China and the cinematography is just beautiful. I wasn’t unfamiliar with Asian dramas – my mother had been a fan for years – but this is the first time I sat down and watched one. I’ve been binging various dramas from across Asia for the past several months and decided that I should add some reviews to offset the constant Star Trek reviews I have.
To watch these shows I currently stream via Amazon (Prime Video), Netflix US, and Rakutan Viki. My interpretation of the drama is reliant on Subtitles (I don’t really care for dubs as it makes me uncomfortable to not see the movement match the sounds) as I do not speak any language other then English and a small amount of Spanish. The countries I currently watch include Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, and Taiwan. I tend to watch Romantic comedies, so these might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
