This is a good book for a rainy afternoon when all you want is a fluffy story with a happy ending. While its clearly a version of the Cinderella story (the main character is even called Ella), the story has enough modern twists to make it seem new.
My only issues with the book were sometimes things seemed to jump ahead without any real development. The whole romance takes place over a weekend and Ella seems to easily impress everyone other than the evil stepmother.
While this book doesn’t make me immediately want to go and read Ms. Lake’s other novels, It also doesn’t make me want to avoid her writing.
